Social Media Influencer Kelsey Grimm Encourages Christian Women to Find Their Worth in Christ

Kelsey Grimm of the music duo Caleb + Kelsey has recently released a new book encouraging christian women to recognize that their identity and worth are found in Christ alone.

Grimm’s book, titled Over It: Forgetting Who You’re Expected to Be and Becoming Who You Already Are, details her personal story of trauma and healing after spending much of her life living up to the expectations of others.

“I spent most of my life trying to be who I thought other people needed me to be. It’s where I placed my worth,” she told The christian Post in a recent interview.

“Ultimately, this led me down a dark and damaging road that culminated in an abusive relationship, a suicidal night on a bridge in Nashville and a desperate feeling of hopelessness,” she continued. “They were the darkest years of my life — years I didn’t think I’d survive, honestly. But all along, God was there. He never left me. Even when I couldn’t see, He was orchestrating a rescue plan for my life.”

After a lot of hard work and seeking professional help, Grimm survived her dark past, and now she wants others to know that healing and wholeness are possible through Christ.

“No place is too dark for God to pull you from. And I am walking, living proof of that truth,” the singer asserted.

Grimm’s book reminds christian women struggling with feelings of inadequacy and the pressure of other people’s expectations that they are loved by God.

“You are worthy of love, of good, of blessings and honor simply because you’re a child of God,” she said. “When culture tries to tell you you’re not enough, just remember who created you and whose image you bear.”

During her interview with The christian Post, Grimm also encouraged those struggling with suicidal thoughts to recognize their worth through Christ and reach out to others for help.

“There are so many people that would be honored to walk you through this season of your life,” she said. “There are always brighter days ahead, but get help through the dark ones.”

For Christians struggling in their faith, Grimm says that it is important to surround yourself with people “who give you space to ask questions and sit with you wherever you are on your faith journey.”

“Sometimes, leaning into a season where you have more questions than answers isn’t a bad place to be,” she added. “Ask God to open your eyes to see — I promise you He will. But know that there’s no ‘wrong way’ to have faith.”

As social media influencers, Grimm and her husband Caleb, a member of the christian music band Anthem Lights, are best known for covering popular songs by mainstream and christian artists. They have also released some original music.

According to their website, Caleb + Kelsey has over 500 million views on Facebook with close to 5 million followers, more than 65 million views on YouTube and several #1 selling albums.
