A peaceful prayer rally and protest turned into chaos when rioters clashed with Christians and Trump supporters protesting for the right to free and fair elections, CBN News reports.
A prayer march in Washington D.C. over the weekend, which gathered large crowds according to an aerial video featured in a Tweet from Right Side Broadcasting Network, was completely peaceful, with protesters there asking for a free election free from voter fraud. It was called “Let The Church ROAR!” and was joined by retired U.S. Lt. General Michael Flynn, Pastor Jonathan Cahn, Rev. Kevin Jessip, Author Eric Metaxas, CEO of My Pillow Mike Lindell, and others.
Once sunset hit, however, rioters flooded into D.C. and some descended on the peaceful Christians and Trump Supporters. One 29-year-old male stabbed four people, part of a total of 33 arrests made. NBC Washington reports there were:
11 simple assaults
10 assaults on a police officer
6 disorderly conduct incidents
4 riotous acts
2 charged in crossing a police line
2 weapons violations – Possession of a prohibited weapon
2 release violations – (One out-of-state failure to appear; one was a fugitive of justice)
1 assault with a deadly weapon
1 resisting arrest
This protest comes following allegations of voter fraud across the U.S. in the 2020 election.
The Trump administration had previously filed suit against Pennsylvania claiming, in part, that republican poll watchers were not present for the counting of some 680,000 ballots in the state. In the lawsuit, the Trump campaign initially requested that presumed President-elect Joe Biden not be certified as the state’s winner. The campaign has since withdrawn this request, the Associated Press reports. Additionally, following the election, several states were asked to recount ballots.
On Monday, states are submitting their electoral votes to Congress to be counted so that the President can be officially decided at the Federal level as per the Constitution’s stipulations. If the electors voted according to their states, then it is presumed President-elect Biden will take office on January 20.
