Melania Trump, the former first lady, has announced the opening of her new private office from Mar-a-Lago, in West Palm Beach, Fla.
The announcement of the office came in a tweet on Friday from her new Twitter account.
“Mrs. Melania Trump is announcing the opening of The Office of Melania Trump,” the tweet read. “Please follow this account for news and updates.”
The news about Mrs. Trump’s office comes not long after President Donald Trump himself opened his own office in Florida, following his departure last month from the White House, on Jan. 20, 2021.

The former first lady has kept largely out of view since the Trumps left Washington, D.C., for their Florida home.
Mrs. Trump, on January 15, had tweeted out a reminder about her Be Best initiative, which she launched early on in her tenure as first lady.
“We must continue to give a voice to our nation’s children and the issues that impact their lives,” she wrote on Twitter last month. “It’s the values and spirit of the American people that inspired Be Best and it’s those values that will carry on its mission.”
The Be Best program for children and families focused on three main points: promoting well-being, fighting opioid abuse, and emphasizing positivity on social media. “As a mother and as first lady, it concerns me that in today’s fast-paced and ever-connected world, children be less prepared to express or manage their emotions and oftentimes turn to forms of destructive or addictive behavior such as bullying, drug addiction, or even suicide,” Mrs. Trump said during a Rose Garden ceremony in announcing her initiative.
At the White House this past Friday, Jill Biden, the current first lady, unveiled a surprise installation of giant cutout hearts on the lawn to celebrate Valentine’s Day this year.

The “heart art” display carried such words as “kindness,” “compassion,” “strength,” “healing,” and “unity.”
“I just wanted some joy,” explained Mrs. Biden, as the nation continues to grapple with the coronavirus pandemic. “A little hope.”
