Attorney General William Barr shared on Tuesday that child exploitation is one of the most horrendous crimes affecting the most vulnerable members of society.
Barr said in a video, as law enforcement officials, “we have a duty to protect our children from these abuses, both in the physical and online worlds. Ongoing training on the newest forms of child exploitation is an important part of that duty. I thank all of you for your commitment and your contribution to this important effort.”
The training will include over 100 virtual workshops discussing the latest topics, tools, and technology for investigating and prosecuting online and related crimes against children.
The training will be part of the broader effort of our Internet Crimes Against Children task forces. The Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force Program is a national network of 61 coordinated task forces representing over 4,000 federal, state, and local law enforcement and prosecutorial agencies.
Report suspicion of child sexual exploitation to your local police, your ICAC Task Force or the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children’s CyberTipline (www.cybertipline.com or 1-800-843-5678).
